Install the XenonFlare SEO plugin
Connect any self-hosted WordPress site to XenonFlare. You need admin access to WordPress and a XenonFlare account (free tier includes website properties and crawls).
Before you start
- WordPress 6.0+ with REST API enabled
- HTTPS on your public site URL
- XenonFlare account at app.xenonflare.com
Step-by-step
-
Add your site in XenonFlare
Create a website property with the exact public URL of this WordPress site (including
https://). -
Install the plugin
Download the XenonFlare SEO plugin (.zip) and upload it under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, then activate it.
On this demo server the plugin is pre-installed — skip this step here.
-
Generate a pairing code
In XenonFlare: open your property → Settings → WordPress → Generate pairing code. Codes expire after a short window — keep the tab open while you connect.
-
Connect in WordPress admin
Go to Settings → XenonFlare SEO. Confirm API URL
https://api.xenonflare.com, paste the pairing code, and click Connect. -
Run a scan and apply a fix
Start a site crawl in XenonFlare. When issues appear, accept a fix and choose Apply to WordPress. Pairing also verifies your domain automatically.
Troubleshooting
- Pairing failed? Regenerate the code and ensure the site URL in XenonFlare matches WordPress
homeURL exactly. - Apply failed? Confirm the plugin is connected and the target URL resolves to a post or page XenonFlare can update.
- Disconnect works from either side — XenonFlare settings or the plugin admin screen.
